There has never been a better time to invest into a Green Power Solar System!
Extended through 2017, now includes Residential installations. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 contains renewable energy legislation which is great news for our Green Power solar customers. Not only was the 30% commercial solar investment tax credit extended through 2017, but the same tax credit was extended to residential installations also. Under this new legislation the previous $2,000 cap for residential solar installations is eliminated. This means that starting now (January 1, 2009) the purchase of a residential solar electric system will make you eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the cost of
your solar system, including installation. You can buy your system now and put it in service after January 1, 2009 to take advantage of this new energy bill.
Under the new California Solar Initiative, the state's goal to install 3,000 megawatts by 2017 brings together expertise from the current programs of the California Energy Commission (Emerging Renewables Program) and the California Public Utilities Commission (Self-Generation Incentive Program) to move California toward a cleaner energy future through new program offerings. Beginning in January of 2007, California solar incentives will change! Application Process Beginning January 1, 2007, the Energy Commission's New Solar Homes Partnership will focus solely on PV systems for new residential buildings. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), through program administrators, will provide incentives for all other residential and non-residential customers.
